Hello Auntie Lynn & Uncle Ron

Another evening of visiting tonight, we had a pretty relaxed day but Billie went to visit the Brownies with Elliot, so we took the opportunity to take her to visit her parents, and also Lynn & Ron.
I managed to catch them both unawares with the camera once i turned the flash off and they were distracted. I have to say i prefer the non posed pictures anyway, i prefer it when people don't spot you taking the pciture and just continue with what they're doing (in this case adoring our baby).
We got another pile of gifts for our little girly, a beautiful set of towels from Margaret that have been embroidered with Elliots name and some Winnie the Pooh characters. a lovely First Year photo frame from the Brownies, some gorgeous clothes from Sarah and also from Lynn. I'll make sure we get photo's of her wearing all these gifts before she outgrows them all.

The Angel Sleeps

Surprisingly well in all honesty, we've had a few awkward nights, but the majority of them have been pretty good so far, she's sleeping well in the evening and also sleeping pretty much all day.. it's pretty obvious who she takes after! ;)
Today we had a visit from Debbie and baby Stanley, the former works with Billie and is also a new mum.
Sadly i didn't manage to get a photo of the pair but i shall make up for that the next time they visit.
Debbie mentioned a festival in a village near her that's on soon at Black Hill? i think she said. we've had a chat and it looks like we're going to try and visit it.
Thanks for the visit hunny, was lovely to finally meet you! Stanley was gorgeous!

Hello Uncle Ryan

Today Elliot finally got to meat the vaunted Uncle Ryan, who has already taken it upon himself to introduce her to all those wonderful words which Mummy and Daddy were avoiding. (not that we expected anything less!)
In her usual way Elliot decided that sleeping all evening was the best way to deal with Ryan and proceeded to refuse to wake up until the clock struck 10pm, which meant that just as we were about to ready to leave for the evening, we decided to stay a little longer to ensure that everyone managed to at least get a little of her wakeful time.
I've had to edit the picture to remove Uncle Ryans devil eyes, i wonder if he would melt in church if we asked him to be a godparent. Mwhahahaha.....
Thank you to Ryan, Chris and also to Paul and Julia for the beautiful gifts you've all given Elliot today.

Auntie Katie and Grandma visit

Well Auntie Katie and Grandma have just left, they've been here for a few hours. Elliot somehow made a judgement call and decided that Grandma was more comfortable than Auntie and proceeded to make sure that we all knew it. (it's not fun to watch, especially when i struggle to calm her myself!) It really does seem that my mother hasn't lost her touch after all these years.
We had a discussion about what we call Elliot ourselves, it seems a lot of the family are calling her Elli but being the dad i really have to say i'm not that keen on it. I'm not going to stop anyone calling her that, but i've decided to adopt the name Lottie.
It was lovely to see you both again, as i said before just come anytime it's not as though we're going anywhere anytime soon! Next time stay for some dinner, i am actually able to cook somethings, yeah you might have to abide beans on toast but it's better than nothing! ;)
Sis i'll make sure she's more sleepy when you turn up next time, so that she wont cry!
Oh and i hope you bring your car up to show us soon, it looks nice in the piccys!

One week anniversary!

Well i kinda forgot about this (lord knows how) but as of Friday Elliot was one week old! which means just another nine hundred and thirty five weeks before i will be able to tell her to go and sort her own life out (meh as if..)
I debated about posting this image or not, frankly i really didn't want to as i really should wear t-shirts more often around the house! But as I'm such an exhibitionist in my own home i figure there's nothing here you won't see elsewhere.
So on Elliot's first week birthday you can see here that i have taken to teaching her the basics of wireless Internet browsing. Unfortunately she has yet to develop the fine motor skills (or interest) required to appreciate yon interwebby, nor did the sight of the TBB, SiR, BBC or in-fact any website illicit any signs of interest from her. However she did manage to discover that pressing any of the following keys frustrated Daddy!:
F11
F5
Right Mouse Button
Left Mouse button
Windows Button
and i believe there were also a multitude of other buttons she managed to press in sequences that i have no concept of, but that managed to do all sorts of interesting things, from flipping the monitor through 90 degrees (Ctrl+Shift+left i think) bringing up the restore menu, bringing up a backup menu and a few other sub menus i haven't seen for a while.
So to bring this back to the point, here's a piccy of me and Elliot doing what i do best on her one week anniversary!
